LM6 acting on behalf of private Investors have let unit 3 Thornton Park, Ellesmere Port.

The unit of 16,148 sqft occupies a site of 1.46 acres and has been leased to  Danish company BWSC and is linked to the construction of a new energy from waste facility plant at Hooton Park.

The new plant once constructed  will process 240,000 tonnes of waste into energy every year. It will the first non-subsidised merchant gasification facility in the UK.

The facility will be the first merchant waste and power project in the UK and is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2021.

The new facility when operational will produce 25MW of renewable power capable of powering approximately 50,000 homes.

Around 350 jobs will be associated with the construction stage at its peak, and the ongoing operation of the facility will generate up to 30 permanent positions.
