Acer Engineering has expanded into new premises and increased its workforce with the help of grant support from the Merseyside Jobs and Growth Fund. The family-run business, which is based in Halton, produces tailored steel fabrication products for companies including Jaguar Land Rover, Veolia and NSG Group. It had outgrown its premises in Speke and needed to relocate so turned to the fund for support.
Acer Engineering was subsequently awarded a grant of £43,650 towards the cost of its expansion plans, safeguarding the future of the company and creating nine jobs. They have subsequently undertaken a complete refurbishment of the facility on Pickerings Rd occupying two thirds of the facility and leased the remaining 10,000 sqft unit to Silva Timber on a 3 year lease.
