The great and the good of the northern property fraternity were out in force last week at the Annual 4 Regions Property Rugby Tournament, raising over £11,000 for charity.

Teams consisting of property professionals from the North West, Midlands, North East and Yorkshire Regions came together for the 11th annual festival.

Building upon the success of previous years which saw three teams compete an invitation was extended to the North East who this year hosted the event at Northern Football Club, Newcastle.

Each of the 9 games was keenly contested with the Midlands team securing a Grand Slam win, following a last second converted try, to snatch the winning trophy from reigning champions the North West by a score of 17-19.

Yorkshire won the Rose bowl and the North West team, which was captained by Freddie Oakey of db symmetry secured the Boat Race Cup for the sixth consecutive season.

Evergreen Dan Gallagher of Stoford was on fine form for the Midlands team while Josh Downes (JLL), Matt Shufflebottom (Knight Frank) and veteran Tom Pearson (JMW) shone for the North West.

Industrial specialist LM6’s Tony O’Keefe, Chairman of the North West team, commented: “The annual event is growing both in stature and size every year and the standard of rugby was exceptional. A big thank you to the organisers, sponsors, players and supporters of the event which saw 800 people attend and raised over £11,000 for St Oswald’s Hospice in Gosforth.”

He added: “We are also pleased to announce a further donation of £ 1,000 from the North West team to local charity Claire House Childrens’ Hospice on the Wirral.

The North West’s principal sponsor was Industrial developer and asset manager Chancergate with additional support from APAM, Rapleys, CBRE, Rider Levett Bucknall and LM6.
